WRKF's community advisory board provides advice with respect to whether WRKF's programming and other policies are meeting the needs of the communities served by the station; and assists in obtaining financial support for WRKF, including identifying and approaching potential WRKF donors.

Bylaws

Article I - Name
The name will be the WRKF Community Advisory Board (CAB).

Article II - Purpose
The CAB has no governing powers. The purpose of the CAB is as follows:

• Provide advice with respect to whether the programming and other policies of WRKF are meeting the needs of the communities served by the station.

• Assist in obtaining financial support for WRKF, including identifying and approaching potential WRKF donors.

Article III - Membership
Members of the CAB must be WRKF members. The composition of the CAB will reasonably reflect the diverse needs and interests of the communities it serves.

Article IV - Community Advisory Board Members

I. Number and Tenure

The CAB will consist of up to five (5) members. There are two (2) two-year terms and three (3) one-year terms. Members can be re-appointed for one additional term. Members cannot serve more than two consecutive terms. Terms will generally follow the calendar year.

II. Selection

Nominations for the CAB may come from any source and will be made to the CAB Chair. Candidates must be WRKF members. The CAB will consider the nominations and endorse a slate for appointment by the CAB Chair.

III. Filling Vacancies

The CAB may fill vacancies during the year to carry out a vacant term. The CAB Chair may appoint a person to fill the un-expired term.

IV. Dismissal of CAB Members

Any CAB member who misses more than three (3) consecutive meetings shall lose his or her status as a member of the CAB. The CAB Chair reserves the right to dismiss any CAB member upon consultation with the full CAB at a regularly scheduled meeting.

Article V - Meetings

I. Open Meetings

All meetings of the CAB are open to the public.

II. Regular Meetings and Special Meetings

The CAB meets at least twice a year.  Special meetings of the CAB may be called by or at the request of the Station Manager, the Board of Directors or any two CAB members.

III. Quorum

The quorum for CAB meetings is the number of CAB members in attendance.

IV. Minutes of Meetings

Minutes of the CAB meetings will be recorded by a member of the CAB. Copies of the minutes will be kept at WRKF.

Article VI - Amendments

These by-laws may be altered, amended, or repealed and new by-laws may be adopted by a majority vote of the CAB. The proposed amendment shall be sent to each CAB member in writing at least ten days prior to the vote.
