Sarah Handel is the Associate Producer for NPR's Talk of the Nation. She also directs the show from time to time, and assists the New York production staff of NPR's Talk of the Nation Science Friday. After a formative stint as a college radio DJ at WUOG in Athens, Georgia, Sarah knew a career in sociology could never compare to radio. Then, one evening, she heard a story on the Magnetic Fields on All Things Considered, and realized a gig at National Public Radio was her logical next step. This goal dovetailed neatly with her planned return to the DC area, where she grew up and had been accepted at graduate school.

What is HD Radio™ technology?

HD Radio™ technology eliminates the noise and interference that cause the static, hiss, pops and fades heard on today's analog radios. In addition to crystal clear reception, HD Radio™ technology will enhance sound fidelity. You will be able to hear WRKF HD and WRKF HD2 in its purest, clearest, digital form.

What else does HD Radio™ technology do?

Right now, it also creates the ability to divide the digital bandwidth into multiple audio streams, without significant loss of audio quality.

How can I hear WRKF's broadcast in HD Radio™ Technology?

Listen live to WRKF with the WRKF app. Get stories and podcasts on demand. Even wake up to WRKF with the app's alarm clock.

Members of the Legacy Society have made provisions for WRKF in their financial and/or estate plans that will help ensure that the station remains a strong voice of Louisiana news and information.

Planned or deferred giving enables you to arrange charitable contributions in a manner that maximizes your personal objectives while minimizing the after-tax cost. We call them planned gifts because they are directly connected to your financial and/or estate plans. They are also called deferred gifts because, even though they are given today, WRKF will not realize their benefit until some time in the future.

We separate deferred or planned gifts into two categories:

Life Income Gifts

In order to recognize significant annual support, WRKF has established the Circle of Friends, a growing group of our station's most generous donors that make leadership gifts totaling $1,000 or more annually.

WRKF's Circle of Friends share in the vision and commitment that Baton Rouge and south central Louisiana is a better place to live with a vibrant public radio station.

The WRKF Circle of Friends has special benefits that better connect you with the programs and services you help make possible. There are key recognition benefits Circle of Friends members are entitled to, which include on-air, print and the WRKF website. We plan to regularly communicate how Circle of Friends' dollars are making a difference.
