Dan's final Bayou Garden; say hi to Lee Rouse

Lee Rouse
LSU AgCenter

While our quick April Fool's joke on this week's program may have alarmed you for a brief moment, Dan Gill will be moving on from Bayou Garden and he's passing Bayou Garden off to the capable hands of one of his coworkers at LSU AgCenter, Lee Rouse.

Lee is the Extension Agriculturist for East Baton Rouge Parish for the LSU AgCenter.

This week, we talk to Lee Rouse and hear about his background in horticulture. Lee graduated in 2013 from LSU with a B.S. in Horticulture. He worked at a local nursery for 10 years through high school and college, which helped him identify his interest in gardening and horticulture.

At LSU AgCenter, Lee answers gardening questions, holds gardening classes, and works with the LSU Master Gardeners.

Lee says one of his favorite special interests in horticulture is tropical gardening.

You can reach Lee at lrouse@agcenter.lsu.edu.

Dan is an Associate Professor in Consumer Horticulture with the LSU AgCenter. He is the spokesperson for the LSU AgCenter’s "Get It Growing project," an effort encouraging home horticulture throughout Louisiana. Dan is also author of "Month-by-Month Gardening in Louisiana" and co-author of the "Louisiana Gardener’s Guide."
