End of Summer Signals Garden Slowdown

A late summer planting of basil will keep you supplied until the first frost. Select basils for their specific flavor. Basil ‘Red Rubin’ is a colored selection with a pleasing taste.

Although Labor Day is the traditional end of the summer season in some parts of the country, summer in southeast Louisiana lingers well into October. But temperatures are starting to moderate in September.
