TUESDAY: Former State Sen. Jim Brown; Civil Rights Photographer Matt Herron

Former Louisiana State Senator, Commissioner of Insurance and LSU Track Athlete Jim Brown stops by the studio to discuss politics with Jim for the better part of today's show. They discuss Rep. Bill Cassidy's chances of becoming U.S. Senator, as well as Rob Maness's campaign. They also discuss the Republican primary taking place this afternoon in Mississippi pitting Sen. Thad Cochran against Tea-Party backed candidate Chris McDaniel. 

Civil Rights Photographer Matt Herron joins Jim for the last segment of today's show. He and Jim discuss the photos he took during the summer's of 1964 and 1965 in Mississippi and the stories behind them.

How Do You Wring Sound From Sculpture? It Takes A 'Quiet Pride'

Rufus Reid has played with just about everybody in the mainstream jazz world. His latest project, Quiet Pride, is based on works by the late sculptor and civil rights activist Elizabeth Catlett.

Bassist and composer Rufus Reid has been playing jazz for half a century. He's worked with just about everyone, from saxophonists Dexter Gordon and Stan Getz to singer Nancy Wilson and trumpeter Dizzy Gillespie.
